150th Birth Anniversary Celebration of Mahatma Gandhi @ DLIS, MZU

Dear All,

This is to inform you that on the occasion of 150th Birth Anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi, Father of the Nation, Department of Library and Information Science has organised the Anniversary Celebration program on 13:00 PM at Department. Prof. S. N. Singh, Head, Department of Library & Information Science has welcomed the Faculties, Research Scholars and MLIS students on the occasion and deliberated a short speech on life and works of Mahatma Gandhi with a request to follow his principles in every walk of life. Prof. R. K. Ngurtinkhuma spoke to philosophy of the Mahatma Gandhi and elaborated the importance of Gandhian Philosophy and motivated everyone to be in-tuned with Gandhian Philosophy. After his speech, Ms. Mercy, MLIS student has delivered a short speech on Mahatma Gandhi followed by Ms. Ruth Lalthlamuanpuii, Research Scholar and Mr. Dibanjyoti Boragohain, Research Scholar. Mr. Zorinpuia, Research Scholar, has informed the cleanliness related activities adopted by the Department which matched with the vision of Mahatma Gandhi on cleanliness of rural India. The formal vote of thanks has been proposed by Dr. Manoj Kumar Verma and program was compered by him also. Dr. Lalngaizuali, Assistant Professor of the Department arranged the snacks and helped in the organisation of the program successfully. Dr. Manoj Kumar Verma and Dr. Lalngaizuali, both, jointly coordinated the program.

DLIS MZU Parent Teacher Interface held on September 30, 2019 at Department

Dear All,

This is to inform you all that Department of Library & Information Science has successfully organised its Parent - Teacher Interface for MLIS 1st and 3rd semester students on 30th September, 2019 at 10:30 AM at the ICT Laboratory of the Department.

Prof. S. N. Singh welcomed the parents and given a brief address to the parents towards the functioning of Department. Prof. R. K. Ngurtinkhuma discussed in detail about the student's progress monitoring system adopted by the University as well as Department. Dr. Lalngaizuali, Teacher-in-Charge of Parent-Teacher Interface, elaborated the educational as well as co-curricular activities of the Department for the benefit of students. Parents also out-spoke to the teachers related to their wards and assured to make their wards' full involvement in all the departmental activities.

This is to inform you that newly admitted Ph. D. & M. Phil. Scholars of Department of Library and Information Science have participated in Colloquium organised for them on 27th September, 2019 at 10:00 AM. The PhD scholars Ms. Tribeni Pathak presented her lecture on the topic "Electronic Resource Management in Library and Information Centres" and Mr. Samuel presented his lecture on the topic "Resource Mobilisation in Public Library System" followed by discussion. The program was chaired and administered by Dr. Akhandanand Shukla, Senior Assistant Professor. The program ended on 12:30 PM.

This is to inform you that newly admitted Ph. D. & M. Phil. Scholars of Department of Library and Information Science have participated in Colloquium organised for them on 25th September, 2019 at 12:30 PM. The PhD scholars Ms. Nilakshi Sharma presented her lecture on the topic "Financial Resource Management in Academic Library System" and Ms. Ruth Lalthlamuanpuii presented her lecture on the topic "Human Resource Management in Library & Information Centers". The program was chaired and administered by Dr. Akhandanand Shukla, Senior Assistant Professor. The program ended on 2:30 PM with live discussions during the program.
