National Librarian's Day Celebration, 2019

This is to inform you that Department of Library and Information Science, Mizoram University, Aizawl has observed National Librarian's Day on the occasion of Dr. S. R. Ranganathan's Birthday (Father of Library Science in India) on 13th August, 2019 at Dean's Conference Hall, SEMIS, MZU. Prof. S. N. Singh, Head, Department of Library and Information Science has delivered the welcome address. Prof. R. K. Ngurtinkhuma highlighted the life and works of Dr. S. R. Ranganathan. Dr. Akhandanand Shukla delivered a speech on "Relevance of Ranganathan's Philosophy in Modern Information Society". Ms. R. D. Rosangzuali, 3rd semester student of MLIS also delivered speech on Ranganathan. During the function, number of songs and dance have been performed by students and scholars of the department. Mr. Dibanjyoti Buragohain, Ph. D. Scholar has compered the program. A formal vote of thanks has been proposed by Dr. Amit Kumar, Coordinator of the function. All the MLIS students, M. Phil. Scholars, PhD Scholars and Faculty members of the Department were involved actively to make the function gracious.
